EZ-SQL Warehouse
SQL Workload Historical Analysis
With EZ-SQL Warehouse, the DBA can combine many workloads from multiple sources for further analysis by EZ-Tracer/Cache and EZ-Impact Analyzer. In addition, EZ-Index Analyzer and EZ-Index Optimizer utilize EZ-SQL Warehouse as their analysis repository.
SQL may be loaded into the EZ-SQL Warehouse using any of the following methods:
- Real time Static or Dynamic SQL captured from live systems using EZ-Tracer and/or EZ-Cache
- Static SQL loaded directly into the Warehouse from the System Catalog for selected PLANS or Packages
- Free Form SQL entered directly into the Warehouse
In support of analysis activities, Catalog statistics are automatically loaded into the Warehouse for each applicable database for traced applications (i.e. EZ-Tracer or EZ-Cache) and for application SQL loaded from the Catalog.
EZ-SQL Warehouse may also be used in support of seamless trend-analysis database load and reporting applications. EZ-Tracer/Cache can be used to populate the Warehouse with SQL Workload data over time. This data can be accessed by user-written trend analysis applications across DB2-Connect® or other middleware. Users may directly download the data into Microsoft Excel® or similar products to perform historical trend analysis of application/SQL performance.
